Bridge Courses

The Old School Bridge Tuition, the story continues…

Following the success of the recent Beginners’ Bridge Course, bridge will continue to be taught and played in The Old School.

Informal Bridge

Informal bridge tuition will be available on Thursday mornings 10.00am – 1.00pm.  Most weeks we shall be playing informal bridge, where hands can be discussed and help given on improving your game.  These are on a  “Turn Up and Pay and Play” basis at £2 per session including coffee and biscuits.

Revision

Once a month our wonderful tutor, Terry Wood, will run a more formal session (again 10.00am - 1.00pm) revising many of the lessons learned during the beginners’ courses. These are designed primarily for those who attended the courses, but others who feel some improvement would not go amiss may also find them of value.

In advance of each session, a short quiz will be sent to all those interested in attending.  The answers will be discussed at the revision session and a demonstration of a particular card play technique will be given. If you are interested but did not attend the beginners’ lessons, then please let us know.

Better Basic Bridge

It is intended to hold a series of more formal teaching sessions under the banner of “Better Basic Bridge”.  These are open to anyone who wishes to consolidate their bridge, brush up on technique or just have a bit of revision.  The cost for these will be £10 per session to include tuition, play of set hands, topic notes, and coffee and cake.  Each session is bookable in advance and will run subject to sufficient interest.

For Your Calendar

See poster to the right.

The next Revision Session with Terry Wood is on Thursday 17th October, the subject being “The Meaning of Leads”.  Cost will be £4 to include coffee and biscuits.

Better Basic Bridge sessions will be announced in due course, but please let us know if you would be interested and if you have particular topics you would like to be covered
